SET | PROP BUILDER skilled and creative Set & Prop Builder to support the design, fabrication, and maintenance of custom sets and props for live events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from concept to completion, collaborating with a team, and solving practical challenges in a fast-paced, creative environment.

RATE OF PAY: $28 - 30 /hour

  • 4-hour minimum pay guarantee per shift

  • Standard weekday schedule 

  • Full Time position

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, fabricate, and assemble custom sets, props, and scenic elements for events

  • Work from design drawings, plans, or verbal direction to bring concepts to life

  • Modify, repair, and touch up props and set pieces as needed before and after events

  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for fabrication and installation

  • Apply finishing techniques such as painting, detailing, and surface treatments

  • Inspect, maintain, and store props and materials to ensure longevity and reusability

  • Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and event teams

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and storage environment

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated experience in set building, prop fabrication, scenic carpentry, or a related field

  • Strong working knowledge of construction, repair, and finishing techniques

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and shop equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform physical tasks in a workshop and event environment

  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and quality standards

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team

ASSETS

  • Experience with specialty materials (foam, plastics, metals, composites, or specialty finishes)

  • Background or training in design, theatre, fabrication, fine arts, or a related discipline

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do, solution-oriented attitude

  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in fast-paced production environments

  • Experience with large-scale scenic builds or custom fabrication projects
