EVENT LEAD is a part-time, on-call role responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of event set-ups and strikes. This position plays a key leadership role on-site, overseeing Event Crew members and ensuring all design elements are installed according to approved floor plans and visual guidelines. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and confident leading teams in fast-paced event environments.
RATE OF PAY: $26 - $30 per hour
Pay Rate: $25–$30 per hour
Minimum Guarantee: 4-hour minimum per shift
Schedule: Variable shifts, including evenings and weekends and travel out of town
Employment Status: Hourly employee (no contractors)
Growth Potential: Opportunity to transition into a permanent or expanded part-time role
RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrive on-site on time and fully prepared to begin work
Lead and coordinate event set-up and strike crews
Oversee Event Crew sign-in and sign-out each shift
Manage venue load-ins and load-outs with a focus on safety and efficiency
Supervise, support, and direct Event Crew throughout each event
Communicate design details clearly based on floor plans and visual guidelines
Identify and report missing or damaged items during event strike to the Rental & Events Coordinator
Load and unload trucks containing furniture, décor, bins, and equipment
Safely operate moving equipment such as rolling boards and pallet jacks
Assemble pipe and drape systems
Set up, assemble, and break down event décor and props
Carefully unpack, handle, and repack fragile items
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Travel up and down stairs unassisted while carrying objects
Push, pull, and otherwise move large, heavy items with the use of moving equipment
Comfort standing and moving for extended periods
Ability to work in tight, awkward, or restricted spaces
Reliable transportation to and from event sites, including late-night shifts when public transit may be unavailable
ASSETS
Previous experience in a management or team lead role
Background or education in design or a related field
Prior event production, event crew, or stage crew experience
Experience with professional draping systems
